On the way into Tulsa this afternoon:
Nathanael: "Mom, downtown Tulsa is a LOOONNGG ways away." (He could see downtown from where we were.)
me: "Honey, it's not that far away."
Nathanael: "Mom, why is it called downtown? It must be down or something."
me: "uh, ummm, uh, well, I'm not really sure, I think that Tulsa started there and then grew out, uh, umm...We'll have to look it up." (typical "teacher-who-doesn't-know-the-answer" answer)
Nathanael: "Oh, well then we must be up....uptown or something."
me: scratching my head, smiling, and wondering how many more times I will be completely stumped by the questions of my small children. If anyone has any ideas or actually knows how the whole "downtown" thing started, I'd love to hear it so I can tell my 5-year-old!

my growing 3-year-old
Kyle and Ian were playing with a toy that I thought was safely put away high enough in a closet to be out of reach. I say, "Kyle, how did you get that?" He replied, "I didn't climb. I just got it because my hand was big." I said, "oh." I can't believe he's almost 4. My little ones are sure growing up!

hide & seek with a 2 year old
Nate and Ian were playing hide and seek last night. I overheard this conversation. Nate to Ian, "I'm going to count to ten. You are going to hide under your bed. Just lay on your belly and get under there. Then I'll come find you." Too funny.

Nate and Gabe
I know I mentioned in my last writing that we have wonderful new neighbors. Well, I just feel so blessed to have them! I feel like God just blessed me with a great new friend who is a lot like me...neither of us mind if there is laundry that needs to folded and that the house isn't perfectly clean...we also both enjoy the Zumba class at the YMCA. We all went yesterday (Nate, Kyle, and I actually rode with her because our van was in the shop AGAIN and Mike drove Caden and Ian) and then went swimming afterwards. Nate (he is known as Nate here more than Nathanael) and Gabe are really becoming quite the little playmates! Yippee! Here are a few pictures of them playing yesterday at Gabe's house. Fun times!

Yippee!!
