Possible meal ideas

In my pursuit for my family to eat healthier and to eliminate all high fructose corn syrup, monosodium glutamate (msg), hydrogenated oils, refined sugars & grains, artificial food coloring, and other chemicals and ingredients that I can't pronounce, I am on a mission to find new recipes and meal plans. I can't believe how many products still have msg in them, including cream soups (used to make many casseroles), canned enchilada sauce, taco seasoning, and Doritos. For more information, you can go to msgtruth.com. It's really alarming. Anyway, as I find recipes, I am going to post the recipes here.

These are all from thefamilyhomestead.com, a great website! The only modifications to these recipes is that I will use my own seasonings when the recipe calls for taco seasoning.
Black Bean Burrito Casserole
Bean Burritos
Black Bean Spaghetti
Lentils and Brown Rice for tacos
Nachos for a crowd
Chicken Lasagna
Oven-baked French Toast
Crockpot Hawaiian Chicken
Okay, so pretty much any of the recipes, not just the ones I've listed above, sound fantastic!

Another awesome blog that I have found is Passionate Homemaking. Here are a few possible recipes from her site:
Chicken Divan

Baked Oatmeal

Quinoa and Black Beans

I saw your comment about the family camp. Yes, it is for anyone. They have kids camps throughout the summer and adult staff retreats etc, throughout the rest of the year. Thye have a homeschooling family camp I believe in a few weeks - you may want to check that out. http://www.newliferanch.com/ And they do a few parent/child camps, as well as the more general family camp (not homeschooling families) once each summer that we went to. It's New Life Ranch in Colcord, about 1 1/2 hours - just right at the border of Arkansas. If you want more info e-mail me sometime.

Will you do a post sometime about how all these food changes have affected your schedule/budget/stress level? Has it been a difficult, or pretty easy? I guess the pay off is worth it? I feel like there is no way I could make these changes right now (we're so time crunched all the time, especially with summer ministry activities) that I depend on quickie foods pretty often...

Hey Margo. You should check out my recipe blog: www.scarbroughkitchen.blogspot.com. I have some fairly easy recipes on there that I think are pretty healthy. At any rate, they don't use creamed soups or pre-made seasoning packets! Check it out and let me know what you think...these are some of my favorites!
