Oh the weather...

outside is frightful...

but the fire is so delightful...

And since we've no place to go, let it ice, let it ice, let it ice!!

Well, it doesn't quite sound as good as "let it snow," but we definitely are in the midst of a pretty nasty ice storm. And actually, Mike still has to work, so the song really doesn't fit! We are one of the lucky 35% in the area that have power, so we are keeping warm. We were without power on Sunday for about 8 hours, so we bought an insert for our gas fireplace just in case we need it. I must confess, I am so excited to have a fireplace that actually can have a fire in it! I have never had a fireplace before this house and until yesterday it only had a cool candle thingie in it. I love it!

I remember the ice storm of 98. I moved during it! only me..ugh. I also worked in insurance at the time and no way could I miss work with all the claims coming in. Snow is way better but fireplaces sure take the edge off don't they? Enjoy!

Margo, Every thing looks so beautiful!!! You'll LOVE the fireplace. It's addictive. Some of my best memories are of the kids playing legos, and reading in front of ours in the evening. I wish for lots of those moments for you, Mike and the boys. Hugs from Maine friend.

Wow! I had heard from my family about the ice storm but I hadn't seen any pics yet. Everyone in our family is out of power...in SS, Tulsa, Jenks, Owasso, and Prue. My grandparents electric box ripped away from their house when a tree fell on the line, so even after the electric comes back on they will have to wait for an electrician to repair their box. They were able to get into SS where my brother has gas heaters, so they are staying warm at least!

Is it completely crazy that I'm a little bit...jealous??
Our high's have been in the 70's. I saw a yellow butterfly yesterday.
But it's Christmas in our house & hearts anyway!

Oh my goodness! That is ICE! We're having ice here, but not anything quite like that! Enjoy the fire - it looks beautiful!
