I haven't had a lot of time to post anything lately because my husband has been in South Carolina since Saturday. I will quickly sum up my time without him...church with preschool classes/nursery, church meeting with lunch (and child care) provided :) , church night of praise with child care (really, really awesome time of worship...I am so thankful that we found our new church), air conditioner quit working, major leak in laundry room ceiling (YES, this is a BRAND NEW house), scary storms...and that was all SUNDAY! Monday can be summed up like this...squishy carpet in Caden's room (leak is obviously more substantial than originally thought), making lunches, taking Ian and Nate to school, air conditioner fixed, carpet ripped up, cutting holes into walls (DID I MENTION THIS IS A BRAND NEW HOUSE AND THAT MY HUSBAND IS OUT OF TOWN?), fan running constantly to dry carpet and wall, major thunderstorms and LOTS of rain, friend Christy and her kids over for lunch, picking kids up from school, basketball "practice" at the YMCA (I have pictures to post eventually). Tuesday...YMCA with all 4 kids in tow for the ZUMBA class (love it!), lots of rain, waiting for someone to come to work on my brand new house with the water leak...never showed...urghh..., fun playgroup, babysitting a friend's child, watching American Idol, fan still running constantly to dry out carpet/wall in our brand new house....urghh. Today...Nate to school, Ian and Caden to a friend's for two hours so that I can clean our house (it's still messy!), recycling, Taco Bueno for lunch, wake up two children from nap to pick up Nate at 2pm, guy comes and MOVES the fan that's drying the carpet and wall in our brand new house, still stepping over carpet nails and praying that my kids don't get hurt, ice cream at Chick-Fil-A, church (with child care!), watching the last 10 minutes of American Idol (go Melinda go), fun times of playing with my kids and acting really silly...I love these kids to pieces! Now, I am going to bed after I move the 18 loads of laundry off of it to be folded another day. Did I mention that Michael comes home tomorrow? I sure do love my husband!! I praise God for these cirumstances and give Him thanks...
Rejoice always; pray without ceasing: in everything give thanks: for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thess 5:16-18
I truly am thankful that I can find humor in all the craziness. God really is good and the Holy Spirit truly is my Comforter!

3 your thoughts:
Oh, how I can relate! Why does everything seem to happen when our husbands are out of town? My Mike's been going out of town every week--last time Mike was gone our hot water heater broke (for the 3rd time) and Jessica got the stomach flu. The time before that I took the following notes on my lovely evening:
5:00 Jessica strangles Mikayla for threatening to tattle on Jessica for being bossy because Mikayla & friend were excluding her. Talks & spankings & comforting takes 30 minutes.
5:30 I realize tonight was my night to take supper to a family whose husband/dad was in the hospital. Hit myself in the head saying "stupid, stupid, stupid". Transfer leftover enchiladas to a clean casserole dish and take it over like it's no big deal.
6:00 Start warming up leftovers for me & the girls. Drop the glass lid to the dish I'm microwaving, it breaks in a hundred pieces all over the kitchen. Clean it up even though getting faint with hunger.
6:45 Start cleaning kitchen--dishwasher is dead (repairman said cheaper to replace than fix) I wash, Mikayla dries, Jessica puts away.
8:30--yes, almost 2 hours later!!!!! Finish dishes (the dishwasher was fully loaded, of course, when I realized it was broken again, so we had 2 days worth to do), and fulfill my promise to take the girls to Blockbuster for Happy Feet.
9:00--start the movie, which makes 2 older girls cry and hide their faces because it's so "scary". It's as scary as Nemo and Babe. Yikes.
11:10 Get everyone to bed
Thank you God for my 3 sweet girls and for my wonderful husband, especially when he's home!
Love you
Kecia
PS I'm going to Idaho a week from today. Denise's mother died. Pray for her!
Seriously, what is UP with things breaking when husbands are gone? When I was about 8 months pregnant in the dead heat of a Dallas August, our AC broke when Jonathan was out of town. Madness. Anyway - I'm proud of you mama!
i pictured all of this while i was reading... thought it is small comfort...i was amused & had fits of giggles...lol.
