a "fun family"

Today, we (the kids and I) went to see my cousin Kristin, her husband Brian, and their new baby girl Evelyn at the hospital. As we were walking in (well, actually Kyle, Nate, and I were walking in and Caden and Ian were riding in), a lady at the front desk said, "Now this looks like a FUN FAMILY!!" I just smiled and said, "Yes, it is!" What I really wanted to do was hug her! Now, why aren't there more people like that! Just because we are a large family, doesn't mean we can't have fun!! I think she should give a class about how to react to people who obviously have a quiver-full!!

The whole idea of a large family NOT being fun and a blessing is beyond me...I longed to be part of "the Walton's" growing up. Always someone to talk too, be annoyed with, have a pillow fight with. sounds like heaven to me!

Yay, lady! I try to always say positive things when I see parents of twins, and notice older siblings when I coo over newborns--I guess I need to encourage "large families" too.

What an encouraging thing to say & to hear!!
